Danielle Smith, Studio Director
Hi there! I’m Danielle Smith and I have been a Kindermusik studio owner and educator since 2005. Before that I was a high school band director and private trumpet instructor. Teaching young children is truly my calling and I enjoy every day that I come to Kindermusik and see your children smile, laugh, learn, and grow alongside their friends and family! I am so thrilled to have grown my program over the years and to be able to bring on a TEAM of amazing educators who share my passion for working with children and their parents. I have also found joy not only in teaching Kindermusik, but I like to work alongside Kindermusik International to help other educators to grow their programs as well by serving on the Educator Board from 2015-2018 and working on the Educator Video Training Program for 2019-2020.
Karen Griffin, Office Manager
Hi all, I’m Karen Griffin!! I have been so blessed to have a loving and supportive husband, Kevin, and we have been married for 15 years. During those 15 years, we did 8 deployments with the Army, and each time it got harder and harder. While my husband was gone, I held down the fort back home. I was lucky to be a stay at home mom to our three daughters over the last 15 years and it has allowed me to enjoy our children growing up. Through it all, I have been able to earn two college degrees and attend classes to become a special needs advocate for our daughters. Our oldest has Autism, ADHD, and a few other disabilities and our youngest has SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). I have had to learn so much information just to not only fight for these two but to help others understand why they do what they do. I have a special place in my heart for special needs children. I want to make sure that they are not only accepted for who they are but they are able to grow and learn in a way that works best for them. I can promise you that here at Kindermusik with Danielle your entire family will be loved and accepted by all of us!
Katie Rachal, Licensed Educator
My name is Katie Rachal and I'm one of the instructors here at Kindermusik with Danielle! I have loved music all my life; I began piano at age four, choir at nine, and saxophone at 11. I went on to earn my degree in music education at the University of North Texas, and spent seven years teaching elementary music in public schools. After my son was born, I decided to leave the public system and teach privately. In 2017 I became the Kindermusik teacher at Saint Francis Episcopal School and have loved every moment! I am also "mommy" to two wonderful babies, Matthew and Lenna. My husband is also a musician - he teaches middle school band and plays the trumpet. (You could say we have a very musical household!) I am so excited to start another year teaching Kindermusik and getting to see all my students!
Sharon Martin, Licensed Educator
Hi! My name is Sharon Martin and I grew up surrounded by music (my mother was always singing around the house). I was a singer in our church choir and choirs at school. My husband, Luke, and I met here in Killeen while he was stationed here at Ft Hood. He is originally from Washington DC and I am originally from Dallas (and funny story, we actually moved to Killeen the same exact day but wouldn’t meet for two more years). We have been married for seven and a half years and in that time we have rescued two dogs (Molly and Daisy), bought and renovated our house, and transitioned out of the army. I have been working with children for over 20 years – from babysitting/nanny to teaching. I have taught all ages from infants to high schoolers… but teaching littles is by far my favorite! I was first introduced to Kindermusik six years ago teaching at a local MDO program. Fast forward five years and I was asked to join Danielle's team of awesome teachers!
Nichelle Brewton, Licensed Educator
Greetings! My name is Nichelle Brewton. I am originally from North Carolina, and I came to Killeen, Texas via the military in 2001 and have been here ever since. I am a mother of two lovely girls. I first learned of Kindermusik when I was looking for an activity for my youngest when she was a year and a half. I wanted something affordable where I felt she was getting something out of it. We started classes and haven’t stopped! I enjoyed the classes so much that when the opportunity opened for me to become a Kindermusik teacher, I could not pass it up. Danielle has always made us feel like an extension of her family and I want parents and kids to feel that from me as well. I’m overly excited about joining the team and all the families I will get to interact with.
Erin Gibson, Piano/Woodwind Instructor
As a native of Temple, Texas, I began taking piano lessons at age five and flute lessons at age 10. While pursuing my music education degree at UMHB in flute performance, I also accompanied two recitalists on piano and studied with flutist William Bennett of the Royal Academy in London. In 1999 I earned a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Baylor University in Waco. I was a successful beginning, middle, and high school band director for 13 years and have accompanied high school students at UIL state solo and ensemble contest. Currently I teach many middle and high school students privately, and continue to perform professionally, playing flute and piccolo with the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and principal flute with Central Texas Master Singers. I love working at Kindermusik with Danielle!
Marcus Sandifer, Ukelele/Guitar Instructor

For the past seven years I have also been employed as a full-time certified music teacher at Lakewood Elementary in Belton ISD. I studied music at Texas A&M University – Commerce where I received my B.S. in Music Education. I have had success in creating and instructing after school Guitar and Ukulele Clubs at Lakewood Elementary the last three years. I look forward to continuing to cultivate a love for music using these instruments at Kindermusik.

My name is Nicholas Bedwell and I am from Killeen, Texas. I have been playing saxophone for ten years. I studied at McNeese State University graduated with my Bachelor of Music Education in May 2019. Mytime studying at McNeese has allowed me to learn from the methods of other great educators. My goal as a teacher is to give useful guidance to better playing and to spark joy with a positive musical experience.
Daniel Young, Bassoon Instructor
My name is Daniel Young and I am a Freshman Music Major currently attending school at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. I have played the bassoon since I was 12 years old and started teaching lessons during my Junior year of high school.
